The Worcestershire Karate Squad is the first of its kind, an all styles county team. Bringing everyone from Worcester, Malvern, Evesham, Redditch, Kidderminster, Bromsgrove, Droitwich, Stourport on Severn, Pershore and surrounding areas, together to compete and train at the highest level.

SQUAD TRAINING
Every month squad training sessions are held where aspiring athletes come together to train in the hope of being selected to represent their county at upcoming competitions. Each month there is a topic/theme that all students can learn and apply into their training no matter their style. Coupled with an intensive training ethos to get the best performances.

Squad cards allow the coaches, parents and athletes to monitor each students progress, from attendance to areas of improvement. A vital tool for those looking to take their training to the next level.

Expert coaches and even guest instructors at multiple sessions throughout the year
Many of our selected athletes have won medals at several competitions Nationally and Internationally
All proceeds go back into our athletes by buying them the squad kit and pay for competition entries

You earn your place on the squad by meeting all of the following criteria.

COMPETITION ENTRIES PAID FOR
FREE EQUIPMENT UPGRADES
NEW COMPETITION BELTS
Athletes must attend 80% of squad training sessions which are held on a monthly basis
Athletes must medal at 3 or more competitions. This may also include the Worcester Open.
Athletes must show continued improvement on a monthly basis and fill out their performance card
Gain points by coming to sessions, entering and winning competitions. To earn an end of year award

At the end of each year we celebrate our athletes achievements with an awards ceremony highlighting those who have gone above and beyond; Most improved athlete (Junior & Senior), Competitor of the Year etc. One way of winning the awards is by gaining squad points, you can gain them as shown below and how much they are worth;
