I started karate with my daughters after watching them for a couple of lessons and thought while I'm here I will give it a go, turns out I rather enjoyed it. I had had previous experience with coaching sports and soon turned my talent to karate coaching, which has lead to me training several students to International level.

 I've been coaching sports for over 30 years. Throughout the years I have worked with students to push them to achieve their goals and dreams, I was inspired when I travelled out to Japan in 2005 for the World Championships and saw what needed to change in this country for students to achieve the ultimate goal. So I went again to Japan in 2010 where my efforts paid off, coaching the first female in England to win the World Championships. Since 2004 I have trained 1 World Champion, 34 European Champions in both Kata & Kumite, 16 European Silver medalists, 15 European Bronze medalist and 1 Japanese Bronze medalist.

After much encouragement by student and karate friends I entered the BKF (British Karate Federation) International Open Championships in the Veterans Male Pairs Kata category and won in 2018 & 2019. I now volunteers with teaching at WadoKai Worcester on a weekly basis and is the Worcester Karate Squad Kata coach.
