WORCESTER OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS
Welcome to the Wado-Kai Worcester Karate Championships!
We are really excited to have you join us this year after not being able to host for so long, we are also happy to announce that this year we will also be running kumite categories for the first time.

The tournament is aimed at the beginner to intermediate competitor and is ideally suited for first time competitors, it has been designed with the competitor in mind and aim to provide a friendly and equal opportunity challenge to all competitors, with maximum reward at the lowest possible cost.
We do not look for profit and any made on the day will be used to improve the next competition.

This competition has no political aims and none will be tolerated under any circumstances.

It would be most helpful with the planning and organisation of the competition if you could let me
know if you intend to enter the event. I appreciate that numbers of competitors cannot be
guaranteed, but an indication of your intended entry would be welcome.
We would also greatly appreciate a volunteer from each club to help with the smooth running of the day ie. judge, referee or table official.
ORDER OF THE DAY

This years competition will be run slightly differently to most competitions as we want to give every competitor as many opportunities as possible. The entry fee of £20 is for the whole day and covers you for as many events as you wish to enter, so for example you may want to enter all events: Kata, Pairs, Family, Bag attack, Tap tag and kumite meaning each category would be the equivalent of just over £3 a go! The more events you enter the better the deal is for you, we also encourage students to go up one category in the individual kata as well to make sure you get plenty of goes.

Click on the events you wish to enter to see more on how they work and the categories available for the day

CATEGORIES
VENUE
The venue for the day is Hanley Castle High School, WR8 0BL.

On approach you will see the schools front entrance where parking will be available. The sports centre will be sign posted for ease of direction however, it is a straight walk from the car park down towards the building next to the tennis courts.

Being a school venue no food or drinks will be supplied on the day, so we advise that you bring your own packed lunches. There is the town of Upton very close by to the venue if you wanted hot food.
We kindly ask that you help keep the venue as clean as possible on the day and put all rubbish in the bins provided as there will be children using the hall the next day.
