Individual Kata is the most popular category for all karateka, it is the opportunity to perform in front of judges against an opponent. Once you have both performed the judges will either raise a red or blue flag to indicate who they think should go through to the next round, the competitor with the most same coloured flags win!

HOW IT WORKS

The tournament will be based off WKF rules for all events, however will be conducted by a flag system. There will be repercharge.

For all beginner categories and under 12s if the student makes a mistake or forgets their kata they will not be disqualified and will be allowed to try again.

When your name is called you will be assigned a colour either AKA- Red or AO-Blue. AKA always performs first.

When its your turn you will walk from the side of the mat to the centre, bow to the head judge an announce the name of the Kata you are going to perform. Once you have completed your kata you walk back to your starting position and wait for HANTEI -decision to be called and the flags are raised declaring the winner.
